Bio
I first picked up the bass at the age of 14, playing in high school bands and the local pub covers scene, and after a taste of the musician's life I decided to study at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. I was awarded a BA Hons in Applied Music in 2004 and since then I have been fortunate enough to travel the world playing music.
European, Canadian and Australian tours and life aboard a few cruise liners have been interspersed with a varied domestic gigging and recording schedule. These appointments have spanned many genres including jazz, hip hop, folk, pop, rock, country, rnb, soul and funk. As well as playing bass I have a passion for audio engineering and have been recording and producing music for over 8 years. From humble beginnings in my 'bedroom studio’, producing my band's debut album, to the role of recording engineer in a professional studio, I have recorded a LOT of music! I enjoy working with artists in a hands on approach to help create something that we can both be proud of. Examples of my production skills can be found on the audio page. |
I have a wealth of teaching experience in both private and classroom situations, striving to offer students a relaxed yet informative setting to explore a wide array of musical concepts.
